A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to inactive email addresses under the very same domain. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get messages from partners or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be redirected to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
If you have a hosting with our company and you wish to enable the catch-all feature for a given e-mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it’ll take literally only one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can pick one address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to miswritten email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will display a warning notification and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all feature can be enabled without difficulty if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll see a small-size icon handily located right next to each one of them. With only one single click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and enable the feature through the menu that will come into view. In case any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will let you know, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
