SPF, which stands for Sender Policy Framework, is an e-mail security system, that is employed to verify if an email message was sent by a licensed server. Using SPF protection for a domain will prevent the faking of email addresses made with the domain. In layman's terms: activating this function for a domain name makes a special record in the Domain Name System (DNS) that contains the IP of the servers that are permitted to send emails from mail boxes using the domain. As soon as this record propagates worldwide, it exists on all DNS servers that route the Internet traffic. When a new e-mail message is sent, the initial DNS server it uses verifies if it originates from an authorized server. In the event it does, it's sent to the destination address, however when it does not come from a server part of the SPF record for the domain, it is discarded. Thus nobody will mask an email address and make it appear as if you are e-mailing spam. This approach is also identified as email spoofing.
SPF Protection in Hosting
The SPF protection option is accessible by default with every single hosting package that we offer and you can use it without any difficulty to protect the e-mails for each domain name hosted as part of your account. The service is managed from the Emails section of the revolutionary, and easy-to-navigate Hepsia Control Panel. All it takes to activate the protection is to type the IP address of the e-mail server as well as its hostname - mail.server.com, for instance. When the protection is active, only this server will be able to send out messages from emails created under the domain name that you have selected. Your emails may be taken care of by some other supplier, but if we take care of them together with your site, you may also enable the option for your emails to be sent only when the domain features our MX records. This selection will provide you with better security as exclusively our server will be permitted to send out e-mail messages from your mailboxes and you'll have better control. When you have any questions or in case you have any issues with this particular service, you will be able to contact our technical support crew at any time and they will assist you right away.

As an additional option, we also allow you to control your outgoing emails and protect your mailboxes even further by permitting email messages to be sent only if the domain in question includes our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain need to be managed by us and not by another company. In this way you'll get even superior control and there won't be any chance for somebody to fake your e-mails for malicious activities.
